I never played it for PS2 but I picked it up for XBox and it's pretty cool, but it didn't impress me much. But I've only played it for about an hour so far.
I have to return some videotapes.

I have been so done with that game for awhile now :P

Actually, even with graphical improvement, I played the previous GTA games on Xbox for a bit and found that the control pales in comparion to PS2. Of course, if you never played the PS2 version, it wouldn't really be an issue.

The only aspect of control that REAAAAALLLY sucks is trying to do drive-bys by pressing A plus either Wht/Blk (L/R), while pressing the gas and stearing.

The S-controller is just not made for that. Gamestop has a controller that has the blk/wht buttons on the shoulders (ala PS2) so I may check that out for this game.

I played 1/4 thru Los Santos on the PS2 and gave it up for Halo2, etc, etc... waiting for the Xbox version. Glad I did, if for no other reason ....

I CAN READ THE DAMNED SIGNS NOW!!!! (and I like that CJ has thumbs)

Are there any improvements on the gameplay (not counting graphics or control)?

So far ... new outfits, better traffic AI (more variety of cars now instead of 50 taxis at once), and more .....

Check here for all the juicy upgrade details.

I haven't seen the Xbox version, but my brother just beat the PS2 version the other day. The end is pretty cool, and quite a long mission. It's a rare occasion that a game is as fun to watch as it is to play. I like in the review that Drew posted the guy says if you meet someone who has 100% finished, they are someone to be wary of, lol. I'm sure my bro isn't 100% finished with the GAME, but all the regular missions are done :)

After playing for several more hours, it's a very fun game. Not a whole lot you can't do with GTA:Vice City, but endless amounts of fun running around blowing peoples' heads off with the shotgun or slitting their throats from behind. I made about $7000 yesterday doing that and building up my strength and skills.
I have to return some videotapes.

I haven't used any cheats so far on this one. But I did on Vice City. It made it more fun.
