Aftermath: Special Edition
I'm looking for a copy of AFTERMATH: SPECIAL EDITION, have been since I got it like 7 or 8 years ago.. I leant it to someone and haven't seen it since. Does anyone know of a possible DVD release on this flick? Anybody got a VHS they'd want to make a trade for? I really want to have this flick in my possession again it freaked me out..

I bought a dub of Aftermath: Special Edition from http://www.videoscreams.com years back. I don't know if they still sell it since their site is a real pain in the ass to search through. You might want to wait for the DVD which will be coming late 2003 from Unearthed films. It will be a double feature with Cerda's other film Genesis, as well as the short The Awakening.

Actually, Unearthed's DVD of AFTERMATH is now tentatively slated for a February release. It will probably be a double-disc set also containing the other two entries in Cerda's loose "trilogy," GENESIS and THE AWAKENING. Expect TONS of supplements, including interviews, behind-the scenes, photos, etc.

I can't quite explain why I feel this way, but I'm really excited about the prospect of a Nacho Cerda DVD. I can't say I actually enjoy watching Aftermath, but I've never seen anything else by Cerda and I have to admit, even though Aftermath is one of the most repellent movies I've ever seen, it's a beautifully made exercise in extremely bad taste.

That's exactly my point. The film has no redeeming quality (but does any film on the forum do?) yet it is done with such beautiful precison (my spelling sucks balls) you can't help but not be fascinated by it. That is the single reason why I want to own it again, just for it's cinematography and editing. I think of the film was not done as a narrative and was not shot the way it was, it would have failed.
It's not a comfortable piece to sit through but it has a vibe to it that's quite hard to explain.

Saw this for preorder online, the site says the date is set for 8/23 and I confirmed this date on the official site . Can't wait!

I to plan to buy the Unearthed DVD of this film, and was lucky enough to see Genesis on the big screen at Fantasia. Its one of the best short films I've seen in a long time. Genesis shows another aspect of life and death, and is the story of a man trying to come to terms with his girlfriends death. Another great short film from Nacho Cerda.
PS. bruce h, its been a while we haven't seen u around here. Nice to see u posting again:) Would u happen to know the release date for the Gerald Kargl's Angst DVD?

Well, actually, I'm a part time employee of this indie record store downtown. I always just refer to it as mine because it's easier than explaining. I do, however, do all the DVD ordering and as a result, we've got the best horror selection in New England and will be one of very few dealers actually stocking Aftermath.PECKER{*x*}WOOD wrote:You have a store now, when did that happen? Good for u, I'm really happy for u:)
