So Im new to the whole online gaming thang for PS2. I have Madden 05 and MGS3. Both are online type of games but Im looking for more in the vein of 1st person style gaming. Meaning 'Halo' style.
Anyone have any suggestions?

What the fuck are you talking about??? There are several great games for the PS2 online....Try SOCOM 2...great Navy Seals game.....Hot Shots Golf Fore!.....another great golf game......any of the EA Sports line, regardless of what the naysayers and Bill-bots in here say....1st person games.....isn't Killzone first person?? I know you can play 1st person in SOCOM 2 and the rooms are always loaded with people.Swashbuckler wrote:There aren't very many good online games on the PS2...

Well, SOCOM is okay, but that's a given. Most of the games on PS2 are just direct ports anyways. I'm not very up on new video games; so Killzone pretty much slipped my mind. Games on XBOX Live, however, are pretty great.

I am drunk...
At least with the Socom series you get headset support. It is not exactly 1st person but it is fun. Mainly the only PS2 online action I am privvy to is the Tony Hawk games.
I can kick anyones ass at Tony Hawk. I say this not as bragging, but as truth.

For the most part, if it has online play for the Xbox, and they make a PS2 version, it also has online play. I don't have Xbox Live, and doubt I ever will because why would I want to pay for online gaming when PS2 online gaming is free, unless it is a Xbox only game.

Yeah but...
Xbox Live is totally worth it. Seeing as almost every Xbox game has Live support in some fashion, and the cost of Live is the equivilant of 1 game, and you only have to pay once a year, I don't see why anyone who owns an Xbox wouldn't want to subscribe.Vocaltremors wrote:For the most part, if it has online play for the Xbox, and they make a PS2 version, it also has online play. What I still don't get is people who pay monthly fees for a game they already paid for. That is retarded.
