Ted Bundy a must fucking see!

Post by shawn »

Everyone needs to hit the video store and rent this now! I haven't seen anything like this since Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer. Its some intense fucking shit. Directed by Matthew Bright, the GOD behind Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trick Baby. Bright is the new king of filth and sleaze. Freeway 2 and Ted Bundy are hands down the most fucked up US films in the last 10 years. I can't believe the shit he gets away with on an R rating...

The film is definitely messed up. I don't know who was more screwed up in the head, his girlfriend or himself. The dead body effects are nothing but extremely realistic. shudder. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it like Shawn here as it just seemed to border on exploitation without any insight into what Ted Bundy was about and how he got that way. Just a two minute scene at the beginning of the film explaining what a sociopath was and that was it, then it was his exploits from then on. The scenes where he steals things based on impulse is quite hysterical though. Worth a visit I guess, but it has nothing on Henry in my opinion.

"border on exploitation"???? Yes of course! Thats the point isn't it? Its an exploitation movie after all...

"insight into what Ted Bundy was..." Ted Bundy was an animal who felt absolutly no remorse for his victims/crimes what so ever. The movie does a perfect job in my opinion. If you want a character study watch the lame TV movie. Given the choice between a character study art-fart film that tries to be more "important" than it should be and a pure exploitation piece that goes for the balls, I'll take the sleaze pic any day. Am I wrong?

Watch Henry again. I did, and I must be really fucking warped now because it wasn't as good as I remember it...As far as Exploitation goes, Bundy blows it away. Henry may be a "better" film in some ways. But if you are in the mood for a balls out, violent, nasty, exploitation piece Bundy is your ticket. It not only crosses the line, it erases it and draws a new one...

On a side note, I watched Freeway 2 again last night and loved it even more the 3rd time!

We need MORE exploitation films these days. I'm fucking tired of watching Island Of Perversion over and over and over...

LOL! Yes, we need more like ISLAND OF PERVERSION, that is for sure! Ted Bundy still doesn't get my recommendation. I even preferred the Ed Gein film, mostly due to Steve Railsback's performance. Don't get me wrong, Ted Bundy is an offensive and grimy film, I just needed more. And by that, I didn't want TV Movie melodramatics! I haven't had the pleasure of seein Freeway 2. You are right, I do need to revisit Henry as it has been quite awhile, but that won't make me watch the sequel again!!!

Agreed on the Henry sequel, that was a waste of time.

Saw Gein, and it was just "okay", nothing new, if you've seen Deranged then there is no need to see Gein. Aside from Railsback's performance it was pretty much the same movie. I wanted more and Bundy delivers where Gein falls flat.

See Freeway 2 now! It is a sleaze classic. Ignore that its a sequel, Ignore that its straight to video, its a one-of-a-kind US exploitation film like nothing you've ever seen. You usually have to step into the Asian genre to see exploitation on the level Freeway 2 delivers. This film doesn't get the credit it deserves. Sadly, Bundy will probably suffer from the same problem.

Myself, the wife, and a couple of sicko friends got pissed up and watched this one last night. What a great piece of filth!!

I feel this was slightly above the level of the recent Ed Gein movie. Both were good, but this one had my jaw gaping in a few scenes. I love how they portrayed Bundy's nonchalance about all the sick shit he was doing. "Hi, I'm Ted. Could you help me with my boat, you see I have this cast on my arm ... " and then WHAMMO with a crowbar!! Sweet.

Also, the Savini cameo was neat and the last few minutes of the guards geting him ready for the electric chair were superb. The only time the sicko showed any emotion was when they were getting ready jo juice HIM!!

Definately a fat thumbs up!!

Ted Bundy is the shit

Post by Rich »

I agree Ted Bundy is the best out of the bunch of serial killer flicks released lately including Ed Gein which put me to sleep, it needed to explore Gein alot more and it was too damn slow, no character development or anything, it just crawled along at a decrepit pace and bored me to no end. All the while I was waiting for something to happen and it never did, something like The Minus Man, another bore of a film I constantly hear people praise, fuck it, it sucks, forget about it. Dahmer was a bit better but the guy in the lead looked like a CK model, I mean come on motherfuckers! Dahmer was a dirty sleazebag and he looked like shit in all of his photos with those goofy glasses and fucked up expression. Ted Bundy delivered the goods, I could have used more on-screen violence but it still kept me entertained and it still amazes me how many dumb bitches he suckered in, I'm hoping girls these days can see that shit coming from a mile away. It also fucks me up about how many times the guy got away from the cops, jesus, come on! The sad part about it is that its true, he did escape at least 2 times from police custody.

I did enjoy the Savini cameo and I'm sure at the end credits Savini is quoted as the special effects make-up artist but it also lists The KNB EFX group, can someone explain? Best scene in the movie has Ted fucking potential victim sluts who visit him in the slammer, unreal stuff!

I rented Dahmer last weekend and boy did it suck a fat kid's dick. Slower than shit, boring, and NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS! The movie would have you believe Dahmer only killed like 2 fucking people. And 90% of the movie is a long drawn out boring conversation between Dahmer and one of his would-be victims. I couldn't wait for him to kill this fucker, and guess what? He never does! From memory there are only one or two deaths in the movie. None of the cannibalism, no heads in the freezer, nothing...

I checked out part of a "making of segment" on the disc and the director talks about how he didn't want to make another "exploitation film" about a serial killer. Instead he wanted to "study" dahmer and find out why he was what he was... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring.....................zzzzzzzzzzzzz
And the director didn't even do what he set out to do. Nothing new is learned! Next time go for the exploitation factor ya dumb shit or stick to Lifetime TV movies its more your speed...

Very well put. After sitting through Ed Gein and Ted Bundy, this was just boring tripe! Heck, after Gates of Heaven, this would still be as dull as a writing with the erasure end of a pencil!

Thank you a million times over, Shawn!

TED BUNDY fucking ruled, and it's easily one of the best movies I've seen this year. Matthew Bright knows how to crank out some serious sickness, and he hasn't disappointed in quite some time. I've been a fan of the Bright/Elfman team since FORBIDDEN ZONE, and it's cool to see that at least one member of the duo still has what it takes.

whatever happened to that other Dahmer movie. The Secret Life Of... or something. It wasn't released officially but there were bootlegs. I remember seeing clips of that one on Maury Povich or one of those daytime talk shows. It looked like it was pretty good. There was all kinds of protestation from the victim's families when they were going to release it.

I wonder how that one turned out.

Hey LT, I think that Dahmer video came out a while back. Magnum may have put it out, then again...maybe not. Carl Crew from BLOOD DINER scored the plum role of Dahmer. The most of it I've seen is the trailer Dead/Alive Home Video put out on the MEET THE FEEBLES DVD. Looks really nice and sleazy, hope it comes out on disc REALLLL soon...

Put me down as member of the TED BUNDY fan club.

Rich, I was fondling a Fango a few months back skimming through a TED BUNDY article and Savini was definitely on set/location handling all the effects but it looks as though KNB were the ones that created them. Who knows what the story is there. I listened to the commentary during Savini's cameo and Bright reveals nothing ...except that he used his ex-girlfriends' names for the list of victims!

The article may have also mentioned Savini was gonna be working for the producers on the next movie in the serial killer series (ED GEIN, TED BUNDY, ...) but I can't remember who the celebrity fiend was.

Whoever it is and whatever it is, here's hoping its more TED than ED.

I'm a bit late but I got this for an xmas gift and just got around to watching it. Brutal stuff with no redeeming social values, the way an exploitation movie is supposed to be :) I was surprised to see that Seattle, Colorado, Salt Lake City, and Florida all looked the same though :)

Bundy

Post by ROBERT »

Saw it over the Holidays as well. It's certainly better than I expected, with a standout performance by the lead. Saw a HK serial rapist film called The Rapist before hand which was much more explicit,so I didn't find the content in Bundy that extreme. BOTH are certainly worth a look though.

Finally decided to hit the video store and catch up on all the flicks I missed and picked this one up. I am in total agreement with everyone here. TED BUNDY was definitely a complete surprise and I was blown away. The performances and direction were great and there is indeed some brutal stuff in here. The most disturbing scene for me was when Ted is having sex with his girlfriend and she is tied-up pretending to be dead. There is something you don't see everyday;)

As for Tom Savini, I listened to the entire commentary after seeing the movie and Matthew Bright mentioned at one point that Savini DID do the FX. I thought they were pretty well-done and Savini's cameo was good as well. But I also thought that Tracey Walter's cameo was also great.

Two thumbs way up!!!

Odd, that was my favorite scene! :) That and when he was at the party and they start talking about who's doing these things. The way he said, "Hey, don't look at me!" was hilarious. But yeah, great movie. Definitely better than Gein, and I'll stay clear of Dahmer....
