Evil Dead 2 screening in Boston

Post by Latte Thunder »

Just looked this up at the Brattle Theater's site. On October 16, they're replacing their screening of Hairspray with a screening of Evil Dead 2 with an introduction by Bruce Campbell.

For once, something cool is happening locally. I am so there.

Damn, that's cool. Evil Dead 2 is showing here too, but no Bruce. That would kickass.

Also, that DOA showing is finally happening 10/5-11. Image

woulda been cool... alas, no Bruce for me. It sold out the day after I reported it. And his book signing is too early for me to make.

the book, by the way, is awesome. A very quick read, but really funny as you might expect.

Keymont,

DOA is showing here in Atlanta? Is it the Lech Kowalski Sex Pistols movie or something else? I would love to see that one in a theater.

Nope, I'm talking the Takaashi Miike film. C'mon, you shoulda known I'd be talking up the Jap films right? Lol

And by the way, I heard the scheduled showing of Cannibal Holocaust at the drive-in has been nixed b/c some schmuck there talked them out of showing it. Hopefully that's notset in stone (apparently they did show the trailer for it the last night of the Drive-Invasion) but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It's funny, I really take it for granted, too. I didn't go to either of those shows and I'm certain to skip the proposed upcoming showing of Suspiria at the drive-in too. Had they shown Cannibal Holocaust like originally planned, I'd have gone, but now I've been angered! In the write-up for Suspiria, they say Goblin is Kraftwerk-esque and then say "you guessed it-Germans". Idiots!
