Hey this is the Music Discussion part so I thought I would ask for a couple people to check out besides the ones everyone knows... (Beethoven, Tchachovsky(sp), Mozart). I am interested in hearing more.

Some masters of Baroque are:
Corelli
Albinoni
Vivaldi
Handel
Teleman

Neat stuff.

If you really want to broaden your horizons, I would suggest

Carl Orff
Edward Elgar

And if you can handle more:

Frank Erickson
John Higgins
Stravinsky
Vaclav Nelhybel
Symphony No. 9 (the one by Dvorak that is)
Jared Spears

those are just some of my favorites when I was a classical clarinetist

For the composers that I suggested you should be able to find some CDs that have all of those guys on the same disc. Best of Baroque or Masters of Baroque or something like that.

Hell yes... If you are going to try any Vivaldi get "The Four Seasons" first. Then get Uli Roth's Sky Orchestra electric guitar and symphony version :)

Agreed. Check out Mahler's 1,2,3,5,6,8 and 9th symphonies. Those are his best.

I like tannhauser alot, Parsifal is a close second. other fav's are Der Ring, and Meistersinger.. If you are just getting into Wagner I suggest Tannhauser cause its relatively short, Unlike Der Ring which clocks in at around 14 hours or somehting like that.
