Question.......

Post by Clark Chaos »

One of the trailers at the "Hills......." was what looked like a remake of the Omen.

Didnt show much but is this true?

If so, the kid they have looks awesome and the fact that it will be coming out on 6/6/6 makes it even better.

I figured I would ask here because someone here would know.

True, but the Omen was awesome and doesn't need a fucking remake!

I feel that way about every remake but Hollywood needs to rehash everything because now they have computers. :)

Chris - Neither did the Hills Have Eyes but that turned out not too bad. Maybe the Omen will be alright too. I am just learning how to watch them with new eyes I guess.

I was never a huge fan of the original "Hills..." it moved way too slow for me. Plus the remake was done by a proven director who is a true horror fan. Sorry but there have been too many stinker remakes over the last few years, the Ring movies, Dark Water, The Grudge, Assault on Precinct Thirteen, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and on and on... I have no faith in Hollywood...

Me neither... like I said... I guess I am just learning to watch with new eyes. It's not that I like any of those particular remakes, it's just that I watch them as if they were not a remake. I don't know. I don't really like anything new when it comes to movies and I am frutstrated that I keep going to see movies and come home wondering why I even went. I was surprised I liked the Hills remake, even with a great director, I thought it was going to really suck.

I think it's not so much because they have computers, but because the originals are no longer making much money for anyone. I don't think many people are buying the original Dawn of the Dead or Evil Dead anymore, since all us nerds bought those years ago, so they make a new version for the younger fans to watch. Besides, it's really hard to convince a 19 year old to watch an old 70's or 80's flick, since they think they're boring, or cheesy.

The OMEN REMAKE is clearly cashing in on the date it's being released. If you ask me it's a pretty ingenious marketing ploy and as long as the film doesn't come out with a PG-13 rating, like an idiot I will probably end up seeing it. I do agree with Chris, the first one is AWESOME and if anything they could of come up with some sort of a decent horror concept to release on that date.
