Question about The Street Fighter on DVD...

Post by ZXRO »

So I found a killer deal on a box set of all the Street Fighter movies, but according to Amazon, the region is unknown. Does anyone here know what region these versions are? I wouldn't wanna buy them and then be disappointed in not being able to watch them.

Link to said product.

No clue, drop 50 bucks and get a region free DVD player if they don't work for you :)

Yeah, I should probably do that anyway, as I find myself getting more and more DVDs. I found this version on another website that lists it as region 1, so I went ahead and got it. If it isn't region 1, I'm sure that will be enough to prompt me to get a region free player.

Any recommendations? The only TV I own only has coax input on the back of it, so if it doesn't have coax I will need to get an RF modulator.

Quentin Tarantino used to own the right to the Street Fighter series ten years ago when New Line officially released the films to video, but unfortunately got careless with the copyrights with not properly enforcing them, which is why you can easily find widescreen copies of all four films(which were dubbed from the laser disc edititions)on millions of various cheapie DVD labels(as you still can with "Night Of The Living Dead",despite Fox DVD now being the official distributor of "Night",millions of cheapie DVD copies are still all over the place).

And while on the subject,Sonny Chiba was very cool in "Fast And The Furious(3):Tokyo Drift"(which was the best thing about that movie, and yes...he does have three scenes in it).

Was Sonny Chiba the "surprise appearance" alluded to in the reviews of TOKYO DRIFT? Or did somebody else pop up to shock everyone in the last scene?

I like that Sonny is getting more play with American cinema. I guess we have Quentin to thank for that too. I didn't even know who he was until I saw True Romance back in the day. His role in Kill Bill was wicked too.

Remo, that "surprise appearance" at the end just happened to be from none other than Vin Diesel, who recreates his character Dominick in the last scene(which had the audience loudly gasping in full surprise, and half of them loudly cheering).

Sonny Chiba is in the film to prove that he's still active in films, and that he's still there to entertain his worldwide fans.
