Pirates of the Caribbean
Mmmm... Pirates....
I just got back from this and LOVED it. The animation of Davy Jones tentacles was pretty cool. I found myself constantly watching their subtle movements, almost to the point of distaction. (Same with the fur of Aslan's mane in Narnia.) Captain Jack Sparrow. Good lord, now THAT'S one pirate that wouldn't be forced to hold a sword to my neck in order to rum me and make me walk his plank.
I already can't wait for the third one! Thumbs up.

Yeah, the teaser was there. I didn't know what I was looking at, only hearing about the movie for the first time last weekend. They showed the clip, which was enough to make me curious and then the lettering showed up. ~ And transformed. I'm looking forward to seeing how they pull it off. Optimus Prime has one of the coolist names ever. As for Pirates, it was sold out all day yesterday on all 3 at Sehome and I picked up our tickets really early today and a bunch of the later showings were already sold out too. Keep that in mind when you go.

pirates fucking kicked ass...and the transformers teaser kicked ass...cant wait for that...

Pirates was so over the top it was retarded...which made me enjoy it throughly. Most of the time I hate it when they take it to that level, but for some reason they really pulled it off.
My wife had not heard anything about the Transformers movie until that teaser. She is pretty excited about that as well. Damn I love that woman.

We went to see it at 12:01am thursday night/friday morning. I liked the movie. Exciting and all that.
But holy sweet mother of moses the Transformers trailor made me mess my pants! It looked rad and then the logo "TRANSFORMERS" came on at the end and I screamed like a little girl "fuck yeah bitch!". The hundreds of teenagers weren't excited as we were. I fucking grew up with Transformers and trust me, they're more than meets the eye...

Just got back. This movie was good. I usually get annoyed by so many digital effects, but they made the ones in this movie really fun, so it didn't bug me as much. Can't wait for the third one now!
The transformers preview didn't play where I saw the movie. I'm glad it didn't, because I think my husband would have creamed his jeans.

[quote="Jonathan"]You weren't even born yet when the Transformers were
there is an odd generation gap in the Transformers Saga where it fell into obscurity but never really left, and then came back abain. It will be funny to see the audience for this movie. A bunch of old geeks and little kids haha

Well... as second entries go, this was way ahead of MATRIX RELOADED though not up to THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK or THE ROAD WARRIOR.
The effects (especially Davy Jones) were, indeed, excellent, and I loved both the "shish-kebab" and "hamster wheel" chase sequences.
But yeah--it could have been JUST a bit... shorter. Still decent fun and not worth dissecting in painful detail--and we'll be there for the third one.
