PSP Question
Ok so I finally bought a PSP and a friend of mine told me that I shouldn't upgrade the firmware because once you update to the latest version it is hard to use the mods and whatnot. Now I have no fucking clue what he is talking about so you who have lots of knowledge in this area do me a favor and dumb this down for me so I can understand it. To upgrade or not upgrade that is the question.

I bought it used with a movie and games and a bunch of accessories for $130.00 so returning it is not an option. So far I like it just fine and I am not a super heavy gamer anyway so its just kind of a toy for those long bus trips.

I do not have a PSP or know jack about playing on one or modding one. That being said I think that you should consider what your gaming needs are and how well your portable meets them. You describe yourself as a casual PSP gamer. Will upgrading the firmware benefit the games that you play currently in any way? If the games that you have work fine then do not upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. If you plan on buying a game that requires some level of firmware then deal with that when you get to it. Do you plan on modding your PSP? If not, then who cares if you upgrade. If the tool works fine as is then why change it needlessly. Just my uninformed opinion.
