Horror short films
I finally got around to buying some of the Masters Of Horror dvds recently and it got me thinking about how common it is to see short horror films, especially in relation to other genres. I mean, you just don't see action shorts or romance anthologies. At least not that I'm aware of, and certainly not to the same extent as horror. Besides those dvds, I still have about 6 episodes of Hideshi Hino's Theatre of Horror to watch, and I guess that Kazuo Umezu has a similar program. There's a bunch of other Japanese short horror films out there (I found 2 such dvds at the "2 for $11" bin at WalMart, but haven't watched them. "J-Horror Legends and Dark Tales of Japan, I think there were called.) There was of course the old Argento TV show as well. So... does anyone have a hypothesis as to why it seems more common in horror than any other field? Or care to try to offer up a comprehensive list of short horror films?
