Presidential Debate #2

Post by Adremelech »

So, who watched it? Reactions?

Did you notice when McCain referred to Obama as "That one"? Then he wouldn't shake Obama's hand when Obama extended his out.

Wow. McCain is acting more like an angry troll than a presidential candidate.

Not only did I notice that, but I also noticed that when he was done making his statement, he'd drop his mic and then catch it with the other hand and have a smug as fuck look on his face like he was thinking, "BAM! Nailed that one!"

I also noticed that He'd accuse Obama of things and then when Obama would refute them, McCain would go back to saying Obama was doing exactly what Obama just refuted.

Another thing I noticed is that after they were talking about healthcare and McCain mentioned that Obama wants to fine people for getting out of state healthcare and then Obama explained himself, McCain had to be a douche and say "Did you hear how much he'd fine you?"

Seems like McCain might be getting a little too big for his Depends.

I didn't watch it, but my Dad was and I could hear it while I was doing some stuff on my computer, and yeah, McCain sounded like a grumpy old man. I heard Obama go for a response to one of McCain's comments and McCain immediately snapped at him saying something like "I want the same amount of time that he gets to share my view." Jeeze, someone needs to get his Viagra working.

I believe the drinking words of the evening was either "middle-class" or "across party lines" Anyone who drank to "middle-class" would have been feeling no pain within 20 minutes.

I think McCain shot himself in the foot, the other foot, both of his shins a knee or two, and then later a hip. He really had a good idea for the economy that could probably help a lot of people, but it was presented too early on and lost impact as a result. (It'll be interesting if he follows up on it, though.) He insisted upon repeating the same rhetoric, and offered very few details or clarifications. He insisted on re-quoting the same points he's quoted before and been shown up in the news groups' fact checking. He came off as smug and self-righteous, and he only actually looked at Obama about twice. He was also restless, walked like he had a giant log up his ass, and generally didn't appear to be paying attention to Obama. He was, however, much better at remembering the name of the person asking the question and attempting to connect with them personally.

I think Obama came out strong in the beginning, and lost some momentum towards the end, which is unfortunate, because towards the end was much of the foreign policy. The end is also what more people will remember. He started in with the stuttering and the ummms, and lost a lot of the power of his message when he did. I think he did better at emphasizing and clarifying the details of his plan, and he clearly arrived with the intention of hammering the plight of the middle class, which he managed to do. He, clearly, has been reading the fact-checkers, and modified some of his previous statements to be just as powerful, but without the misleading overtone.

In the end, I think Obama will rise in the polls one, maybe two percentage points, and the battle will rage on. Really, there was some clarification, but very few surprises or epiphanies.

Edit: Here's an interesting little fact-checking bit of info.

Hey did anyone notice that none of this garbage matters as Mccain has already won the election? Did any of you notice how much time you have wasted over this farce/fiction/entertainment/distraction/whatever you want to call it? This is election 3 so far, that to me is very blatent in showing it, that it don't matter what the "people" want, it's going to be a certain person no matter what. Think of all the time that is wasted on all the debates that everyone has....

To be honest, I don't know who selects it, but I know it's already been decided. I am guessing a combo of the Rockafellers and that Sultin of dubi or whatever. The richest people in the world basically. It damn sure isn't me cause I wouldn't select either of those 2 slimey cock suckers. I would put the Dice Man or Howard in office and this cuntry would be up and rockin' in no time. There would be a lot of angry, ancient, rich men out of a job.
