I spoke with his g/f and she said he had diabetes. He fell down in his house and re-aggrivated an old back injury, so bad that he was in extreme pain all evening. He asked her to take him to the e.r, where they treated him for pain with morphine and dillotin. I guess mudd's blood sugar level was really high. I guess he was wanting to go home , so they released him . But something with his blood sugar level and the painkillers fucked him up and he passed away after they went home and went to sleep.

Holy shit fuck!! Just saw him last week and gave him a hug. This is pretty damn sad. He was a goofy fucker that I loved to give shit to, but he was a big supporter of mine and had a good heart. RIP, man.

Jesus christ!
Which hospital did he go to and are you sure that's what they gave him? Morphine AND Diloded?
Why the fuck would anyone one prescribe that combination and didn't they actually address his blood sugar? I just had my nurse read this over my shoulder and she couldn't see any rational answer for this either. That doesn't make any sense. If his blood sugar was too high and they gave him something to lower it and it dropped too quickly and they prescribed that, he could have gone into respitory failure. Is that what happened???

Essenitally they OD'd him and sent him on his way?

That's fucking horrible!

Just to double check that my panties arn't in a lawsuit-ish bind over this, did you mean dilantin or dilaudid? I'm asking since a lot of people pronounce the dilaudid with a 'T' sound at the end and I poured over my drug book again looking for logical reason.

This what I heard that they gave him and sent him on his way:

Atenolol is a β1 receptor selective antagonist, a drug belonging to the group of β-blockers, a class of drugs used primarily in cardiovascular diseases. Introduced in 1976, atenolol was developed as a replacement for propranolol in the treatment of hypertension. The chemical works by slowing down the heart and reducing its workload. There is no evidence to suggest that it is addictive.[1] Unlike Propranolol, atenolol does not pass through the blood-brain barrier thus avoiding various CNS side effects.[2]

Whilst atenolol, the most widely used β-blocker in the United Kingdom, was once first-line treatment for hypertension, the role for β-blockers in hypertension was downgraded in June 2006 in the United Kingdom to fourth-line as they perform less well than other drugs, particularly in the elderly, and there is increasing evidence that the most frequently used β-blockers at usual doses carry an unacceptable risk of provoking type 2 diabetes.[3]

When Trish spoke with me yesterday she mentioned something about using a show he already had set up as a benift. She didn't have details and I wasn't going to push her for any as she was very upset at the time.

I stopped into Tracys Place and Tracy thinks she'll hold something not this weekend but next.

Alot of friends and family of Muddstain Productions will be up there at tony v's this friday, checking out the show and we'll definetely be raising a glass to toast Mudd this Friday when we play up in Everett with The Pleasure Elite at the club Muddstain got us some great gigs at, right in his own home turf.

I wouldn't have gotten in Tony V's to begin with if it wasn't for Mudd, and he helped our band and my company alot with his promoting and just being a cool fuckin dude.... I really miss ya bro!

come one out and slam a tequila shot and some toasty nuggies with me in the man's honor.

I don't really know what to say. I haven't known Mudd for more than a year I think, but he was always very cool to me & Eric. He was always saying that he loved Bums Island. We last hung out with him at the end of the show on Saturday night, he a Trish were trashed and were having a great time. I knnnoooowwww we will all miss him. RIP.

Ya know... although I really didn't know him well, it never failed to crack me up that whenever Hodgy and I would show up, he'd bellow our names in greeting, no matter if there was one person standing around or he had the mic and was doing it from the stage infront of a roomfull of people.

That kind of energy is just funny and infectious and will be missed. I'd like to be able to at least one last time, bellow back in his honor. :metal:
