Fucking hell! I just saw that he was rushed to the hospital, nothing else. Still waiting for official death confirmation though.

Much more relevant.
Sky Saxon too.
If you don't know who he is, oh well.
Theres no question that Michael Jackson, along with his sister had a incredible level of entertainment talent. Their personal lives however were twisted and very weird to see played out in the media.
I once read somewhere that Micheal Jackson had generated well over $3 Billion in revenue, between the promoters, producers, writers, concerts and everything else that was the Micheal Jackson industry. Thats really something.
RIP, you strange little man.

Fuckin' crazy man. Like when they announced Farrah this morning I wasn't really that shocked but Jack-O. Wow. I mean I guess when I think about it more, that's not that surprising.... I'm actually waiting for Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan to pull an Anna Nicole.

Oh please, Michael Jackson had about as much talent (if not less) than both farrah fawcett and ed mcmann. They were all 3 about the same level. When Flo Rida dies is everyone gonna say he was an AMAZING talent. shit.

I hate to say that I agree with Jody, but I really don't know that I would go so far as you consider MJ talented. Sure he had chart topping hits, but have you seen some of the people with #1 hits? Talent has very little to do with it. He was quite unique, and definitely an icon........ but not really what one considers talented. Plus the guy was a Chi.Mo.
Michael Jackson died. He is survived by his 3 kids.............. and Macaulay Culkin.

i always thought he was bad ass from since i was a kid. i remember the first cassette tape i ever owned was "Bad".
but to say he was not talented is retarded. if anyone else was to be accused of diddling kids their career would be over, but not MJ. thats gotta be some kind of talent...??
no matter how much or how many people tear into him, or how many kids he tears into, the public always knows that he is just to awesome.

I guess I don't understand people who don't personally like someone or think they're talented, and so CLEARLY, therefore, that person was a nobody. OK, I really hate Nirvana. I could give 2 shits that what's-his-face offed himself. Am I sufficiently stupid that I discount the impact that he had? No. It's clear that he had an impact. I don't understand really why he had that impact, as I never saw the genius myself, but he touched a lot of people, and that's real and undeniable. MJ touched a lot of people, too (... some of them even over 18 *grin*) and whether you think he was a tuneless looser or a brilliant entertainer doesn't change the impact he had on others. Frankly, the number of people who are freaked out about MJ's death is a statement unto itself. Now, I guess I never got his genius, either, though a few songs were kinda cool, but he impacted a huge number of folks, and deserves credit for that accomplishment.

Never said he had NO talent, sure, singing and dancing are talents. Yes. So is announcing the tonight show, or acting and posing for cameras. Big Neato for them.Project Undead Vish wrote:Fuckin christ. MJ revolutionized pop music. He revolutionized dancing. Yep. No talent.
He revolutionized it in a gay ass way. He made it "cool" to whine and grunt like your cumming as you "sing". Personally, he stands for just about everything I dislike, other than being an individual and doing what you want. As I said, I salute him for the few cool things he did, but other than that it's a big so what, and probably saved those kids he was raising from an even more creepy life.

There is tons of stuff coming out on him, you all are surprized about it? Isn't this the same guy who fucked his face up with surgery, slept in a air chamber, had a monkey, and oh yeah molested little boys? Tabloid or no tabloid, I am sure that there are going to be all sorts of little "secrets" coming out. Kids aren't biologically his.. big surprize. Addicted to drugs... big surprize. dudes is queer... big surprize. Now we will find out all the things we all suspected from the start! I don't think many things will be a big mystery.

Our culture has always created figures bigger than life to give us something to take our attention away from our own lives. In the 70's and 80's the phenom was the little guy in Jackson 5 that ruled most adults at performing. Then it was MJ coming out on his own. The demand for a bigger than life figure was huge, and thusly created the beast that was Michael Jackson.
The dude was never in reality. His brain never computed the way normal people's did. He was a fantastical character both in the fans minds and his own. I'm surprised he made it past 30. But 50??? He had to have been held together by duct tape for the last twenty years!
Anyone "surprised" by his death, continues to go with thinking he's that mythical creature that died before his time. His time was long ago, and the fact that he lived so long is mythical in it's own right.
But I grew up with the Off The Wall album spinning at home. MJ was a hugely talented PERFORMER that revolutionized many aspects of music performance. It would be hard to find many others who have done as much as he has for the field.
