I'm motherhen-ing eight walkin' ~ talkin' two week old chicks for friends' of mine for a few days. A week and a half ago, they were literally the size of Peeps and I fell madly in love with 'em.
The yellow ones are both called Kristi. The owners say that they do these hilarious little kung-fu kicks before climbing over the other babies heads. Dominant lil' bitches got dubbed with my name for their shennaigans.

Chickens are a pain in the ass. If you are going to keep them you need a coop and a decent fenced in yard, eagles, coyotes and raccoons just love fresh chicken. That many you need at least 250 sq/ft yard and a little house. They are full grown at 3 months and they start to turn ornery.
And yeah, they shit a ton.

What fun! You get to play with them when they're young and cute and then you get to give them back before they're big and annoying. I think that's just about perfect!
