R.I.P. Jess Franco

Jess Franco has passed away at the age of 82. He died in his sleep this morning at his home in Malaga, Spain. Sad to see. I just watched Succubus this past weekend too. I know Lina Romay, his longtime companion and co-star passed away from cancer late last year. Makes me wonder if Franco simply died of a broken heart.The generation of Eurohorror directors is getting fewer by the year after the passings of Lucio Fulci, Joe D'Amato, Mirino Girolani. Hopefully Franco joins them and they are sitting around a table having drinks in the afterlife. Despite his lackluster films of the last ten years or so, it will really be sad when Dario Argento moves on to the next plane.

Think I'll pop in Vampyros Lesbos tonight and crack open a cold Dos XXs.
