BIO ZOMBIE

Post by DayGlowAbortion »

Been hearing a lot, about this Japanese Zombie fest. Set in a mall, and it has to do with two employees of a video game store accidentally killing a man, who's been contaminated by working in a government plant.Of course the guy comes back to life and Zombie gore ensues.I don't know if the final result is worth ordering on DVD, but the premise sounds good. It was released by a label called Tokyo Shock awhile back ,but appears to have been released by another label in North America. I don't know the name of it. Is this true? That information was from a third party,so may not be reliable.

First off, the movie isn't Japanese. This is classic Hong Kong nuttiness here. I liked this movie quite a bit, although it's definitely got it's share of detractors, most of whom can't see past the poor translation (at least on the Mei Ah dvd that I have.) which I tend to think only adds to the humor of the film. There's lots to laugh at here so if you want nothing but a true hardcore zombie flick, you may be better off looking elsewhere. The last 1/2 hour is probably the closest it comes to that sort of thing. Anyway, a very fun movie.

I have a HK import of this, and while I enjoyed it, I was told it was like an unofficial Resident Evil movie. It's much more of a comedy, though it sure has a bleak fuckin' ending. And really not a lot of zombie style violence.

This movie is a fucking riot. I saw the Tokyo Shock DVD last night. Don't know if it's the same tranlsation as the Mei Ah disc (which is the one I saw) but the weird subtitles are half the fun. Sort of like how the voice acting in the first resident evil makes the game what it is. Bio Zombie is fun, plain and simple. Almost a zombie parody. If you're looking for real zombie gore you'll probably want to look into Junk. Bio Zombie is up there on the list with Wild Zero in terms of weirdness.

I didn't think Junk was really all that gory (though I've said that about EVERY movie I've seen since Dead Alive, so...). I didn't think Bio Zombie was all that weird either. It was okay, worth watching, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep my DVD.

This movie was released in the U.S. a while back by Media Blasters. I have yet to see the movie, but the media blasters version has the alternate ending, so i'm probably gonna get that one.

The Mei Ah disc also has both endings and can probably be picked up online for under $10 if you're still skeptical.
