Final Destination 2: see it or miss out
Good thing they snuck DARKNESS FALLS out first--nobody's going to remember THAT one in a while...
Surprise, surprise--FINAL DESTINATION 2 is a rehash of FINAL DESTINATION, just like you saw in the ads. Premonition, evasion, fate, Tony Todd cameo.
Of course, to keep it from being a strict remake, an attempt is made to come up with a new twist or two--specifically, new "rules" and possible formulas to cheat Death--each one cornier and more groanworthy than the last. So why bother?
I'll TELL you why--rarely have I seen filmmakers take such sadistic delight in dispatching their characters in the most horrendous, tasteless ways possible. They must have been laughing themselves SICK writing this one, and if you take a pass on FD2, you'll be denied one of the juiciest, most mean-spirited splatterfests around.
You saw the multi-vehicle collision in the previews--but not the half of it. You saw one major setpiece (ranging from a garbage disposal to a fire escape), but not the punchline. And there's so, so much more...
Look, just go. If you think I steered you wrong, let me know.

Final Destination 2 is what popcorn-horror movies are all about... This one was even more fun than the first one. Its super-violent, mean, nasty, gory, funny, and a big surprise! Shit, everything released these days is a limp-dick pg-13 turd, so its nice to see a hollywood horror film with some BALLS! This movie delivers!! Go see it now, just leave your brain at the door and have some good gory fun! -shawn

I went to see it this afternoon and enjoyed it as well. While the first one was technically a better film, this one was just a lot more fun and gorier. The death scenes were indeed over-the-top and the very final death before the credits was just hysterical, but the glass pane is probably the best IMO. What I also liked is that (like the first film) some of the characters are named after famous horror directors. In this film we get Corman, Carpenter and Lewis. While the first two are pretty obvious, I guess it's safe to assume that Lewis could be a reference to Herschel Gordon Lewis. After all, his 2000 MANIACS also played carnage for laughs (just a thought).
I hadn't really thought much about seeing FINAL DESTINATION 2 after seeing the trailer, but thanks to Remo's enthusiastic review I'm glad I did. It's the first movie I've made it out to see so far this year, but it was well worth it. Anyone that has any doubts about seeing this ought to go see it anyway. Sure it may not be a classic, but it is a helluva lot of fun and worth the ticket price. You'll hate yourself later if you don't:)

Final 2
I liked it. But I didn't think it was as effective as the first installment. Little emphasis on supernatural menace, which added a sense of impending dread, to the first. Most of the violent bits went by too quickly, again, unlike the first,(see a trend?,) which had a particular gory bit involving a piece of metal stuck in a women's throat, that stays in my memory, even today. It's entertaining, and any film that features the bisection of an annoying stoner,is worthwhile in my book.

Trust me, this movie fucking ROCKS! Every horror fan should go see it this weekend. Send a message to Hollywood that its okay to make R-Rated violent horror films! This flick was a breath of fresh air.

This movie was definitely a blast
Checked it out on Friday like I said I was going to and it was a blast! The movie itself didn't have anything else to offer besides the gory deaths. IMO it was a drab affair until the poor fuckers started getting it ten fold! The Freeway accident topped the first films airplane crash and the deaths were just plain mean spirited and tasteless! I loved this movie, why can't Hollywood pump out more stuff like this, I'd be the first in line with my money for sure. Most of the kids in the theatre were wasted so anytime a death occured you got lots of loud reactions. Everyone should go to see this movie, I'd love to see a Final Destination 3 if they keep up the good gory work. To those who says the gore flashes by too fast on the screen then all I have to say is, its better to have the gore than to have no gore at all, all praise Final Destination 2.
Okay guys, you've piqued my interest. I went ahead and rented part one today (I never bothered with it before) and will probably head out to see part two this weekend at some point. This all a part of my new resolution to try to get out to the theatre a little more often...

final destination 2
I wasn't expecting much when I went to this one but I'll say, though far from a classic, FD2 is actually an improvement on the original. I was pleased to see the director push the envelope and go for the R rating. The death scenes are great, and the final scene is absolutely hilarious.
I won't say what it is but those of you who have seen it will know what I'm talking about. A good start to the year after that dud known as Darkness Falls.
