The Reincarnation of Isabel

Post by DylanDog »

FINALLY! A movie for crackheads, by crackheads! Have you guys seen this thing? It's truly amazing. One of the funniest 70's sleazy horror flicks I've ever seen. I couldn't keep a straight face throughout. It's about a witch burned at the stake and these guys trying to resurrect her a few hundred years later. Nothing special plotwise, but everything else about it is great. I honestly don't think the camera lingers on any one shot for more than 5 seconds throughout the whole movie. The thing is always jumping to the next shot like the whole movie is made of cut-to's. I don't think I need to tell you that the dubbing is awful, the music completely inappropriate, effects laughable, etc....

Does anybody remember a Wayne's World bit (I wanna say it was from an MTV awards show) where they showed an example of what really bad editing was like? This movie was like that!! And the absolutely worst of art school nonsense. I swear, most other crap films I've tried to sit through lately (Nadja) only lasted about 20 minutes before I got fed up with it, but I couldn't get enough of this one.

Keymont...you didn't actually LIKE this movie, did you?? If so, you must be a serious masochist. I'll be honest - I like Renato Polselli's earlier film DELIRIUM (not the slasher movie), and had high hopes when the DVD came out.

Disappointing, to say the least. I really wanted to like it, but something about the movie just annoyed me. I don't know what it is. Maybe it was that godawful Italo-Funk soundtrack Polselli had going on. Or it might've been the so-called "funny rape scene" that was more frightening than hysterical. That sweaty pig ruined it for me!

I think I saw this, but it was subtitled. It was a REdemption release at any rate. Also called the Ghastly Orgies of count Dracula? That movie hurt my head...

Yep, I enjoyed every lousy minute of this thing!

And on a friends recommendation, I actually threw Nadja back in today and finished it. Not as bad as I first thought, but still nothing special. It had too many scenes that looked like perfume commercials.

Nadja was okay. Really lousy acting by Peter Fonda. That pixelvision shit hurt me eyes and I had to turn it off, (half way through,)when I first saw it as well. The same guy who recommended Reincarnation of Isabel, also gave praise to Nude For Satan, both Redemption titles. Wonder if it was secretly company head Micheal Morris? I now have second thoughts about Isabel. Is Satan of the same stellar quality?

Nude for Satan was a rather odd flick. I seem to remember it being of better quality than Isabel though maybe not as funny. A very trippy movie that, if you were so inclined, you may want to watch while under the influence of something. Frankly, I can't remember much of the plot.
