You rang?!? Yeah I'm still here. Just had too much going on lately to chime in on everything. But anyway....

Does anyone really need a review from me? I'm pretty much in the majority when I say that EPISODE 3 is definitely the best of the prequels. I've seen it twice already and it still holds up good. I'm with Remo in saying that EMPIRE and NEW HOPE are still the best in the series, but SITH comes in third. CLONES, JEDI, and MENACE all fall behind SITH respectively.

For what its worth, I thought the movie was a blast from start to finish. Unlike the previous entries, which were brought down with moments of tedium, the story for this one moved right along without a dull moment. The scenes with Anakin and Padme were also handled a little better despite some corny dialogue. The opening space battle was spectacular as well as plenty of lightsaber action. General Grevious and the wookies were pretty cool and it's too bad the movie didn't use more of them. Anakin's descent to the dark side is well handled and the final confrontation between him and Obi-Wan is every bit as brutal as it needed to be. I'm glad Lucas made a PG-13 film this time around as it is more appropriate considering the overall tone and gives the movie a more adult feel. All in all I was pretty satisfied that this movie tied up all the loose ends started in the prequels. I definitely hope to see it again before I buy the DVD. But there were still a few things that I felt were unexplained in the end. I'm sure by now everyone has seen this but just in case:

One big inconsistency exists between the prequels and the original trilogy. In JEDI, Leia tells Luke that she remembered her real mother dying when she was young. But in SITH, Padme dies right after childbirth so how is it possible that Leia remembered her mother at all?

How did Obi-Wan and Yoda know about Anakin's family on Tatooine? Padme was the only one other than Anakin who knew he had a stepbrother.

It was never explained how the Kamino system was erased from the Jedi archives in EPISODE 2. One might suggest that Palpatine could have erased the data, but Yoda said that only a Jedi could have erased them (which would make Anakin a likely suspect). But since these clones were being created with a secret mission to kill the Jedi, it seems unlikely that a Jedi would have erased that info.

Yeah I know movies that are part of a series aren't always supposed to be consistent or explain everything but these few issues puzzled me even after seeing the movie twice. Does anyone have any insight on these?

I've always assumed that it was Count Dooku who erased Kamino from the Jedi archive, then masqueraded at Sifo Dias and ordered the Clone Army. Remember Jango saying "I was hired by a man named Tyrannous" and that Dooku was once a Jedi. I think I read somewhere that either one of the books or an early draft of one of the scripts bears this out.

How did Leia know about her real mother? It's probably a Jedi/Force thing. :)

How did Yoda and Obi-Wan know about Anakin's half-brother in Tatooine? Well they both knew that Anakin was from that planet so it's safe for them to assume that he might have some relatives there. Once Obi-Wan got there, he probably asked a few questions around on where he can find someone who is related to Skywalker.

As for your third inquiry, I agree with DylanDog. I think it was Dooku who screwed around with the Jedi archives.

What I couldn't understand though was, how come Vader/Anakin didn't recognize R2D2 and C3PO in episodes four to six? I know I read an answer of this before, but I forgot what it was. Can someone enlighten me, please?

That's very nice Domokun avatar you got there.

Here's some more ROTS related hilarity.

You guys are all brainwashed or you are simply lying to yourselves.
I guess Star Wars fans simply don't have a choice. You have to "like" this one or your entire existence has been a waste of time and you can take all your star wars toys and burn them.

Yes it was better than the last 2. But it is still shit.

It looks cool, great special FX and all that...But...

The story, the acting, the direction, the dialogue = SHIT. Lucas is a HACK. Nothing about this garbage actually resembles a real "film".

Fuck George and his SITH.
Its all about George and his zombies.

I wanted to wait until seeing it before responding to this, but as sad as it makes me to say it, I thought ROTS was much better than LOTD. I went with a friend who loves horror and is lukewarm at best on SW stuff and even he agreed.
