Even though the hand that feed is one of the worst songs ever made? Hmm. I hope he redeems himself. :D

NIN is my favorite band but i must say this album is a steaming pile of shit. it's like garage rock meets industrial. NIN should just start calling themselves "The Nine Inch Nails" :chainsaw:

I don't care what you jerks have to say, I'm with the undead fish on this one. I can't wait until Coachella to see Nine Inches of Nails perform and then purchase With Teeth two days later. OMG! I feel like a little girl!

oh well, i thought that it was pretty good. i really didnt expect anybody in these forums to actually agree with me. people rarely agree with me beacuse the band is too popular or something else.

I had the pleasure of hearing this disc early too, and think it is fucking badass, WAY different direction, especially from The Fragile, but I dig it!

I'm not impressed at all with the "Hand That Feeds" song on the radio. It's about as generic as it gets. Here's to hoping the rest of the CD is better....way better, in fact.

Yeah, I'd by lying if I said I was blown away by that song, but it's my contention that Mr. Reznor has always been an 'album' guy. You know, the total being more than the sum of it's parts and whatnot. We'll see, but I wouldn't bet against him.

i wasnt impressed with the hand that feeds either. but im not impressed with anything that is put on the radio. most bands have their crappiest songs that go on the radio and then the rest of the cd is way better, atleast that is what i have noticed with a lot of decent bands. as for with teeth, there are some definitely classic nin parts, and others that you gotta get used to because its not typical nin... i noticed a little bit of funk on the new album that i havent heard since pretty hate machine.

Hey FoF!

First time poster, here and thought Id toss in my own 2 cents regarding 'With Teeth'.

IMO, the album is very 'Pretty Hate Machinist' combined with new sounds and directions.. My first impression was that I didnt like the album too much and I wasnt impressed with the HTF single. However, after about 2 days, that all changed dramatically as I realized I was blinded by my own expectations.

I personally think its as good as anything he's ever released, but just different -- unlike say, Metallica, Reznor has once again proved he is capable of evolving and redefining himself and his sound and releasing top quality music.. instead of making an ass of himself.. As different as Broken was from PHM and as different as The Fragile and TDS were, With Teeth is in the same vein.. different, yet distinctively NIN.

I mean, say what you will about NIN, but no one has ever put the whole package together the way Reznor has. He was and is one of the best artists of our time.

Ive heard three songs and they all suck. Sure this album is great, if you like simple music made for the radio with no passion or agresion contained within it. Ive been a fan of NIN for years, and this album is a serious disapointment. Face it people, Trents in it for the money, why else would he spend so little time working on new material and keep on releasing all these stupid halos so all the little nin kiddies can eat it up and send him their cash.

NIN has never been, and never will be, industrial. PHM was an 80s album, obviously, broken was more of a metal album, Downward Spiral was more alternative, and Fragile was mainly actual instruments with some computerized elements. Nothing he has ever done has anything to do with stuff like Laibach or Sanctum.

Or suppose that what one really needed to do was to go witness the new NIN songs live in a californian desert and watch the man himself. If I disliked anything about his new material, it was all gone when he walked out onto the stage.

I fully agree, for I heard this in the local Barnes and Noble store, and liked the way Trent Reznor paid homage to his rootful love for both Skinny Puppy(an obvious influence for NIN)and David Bowie, for it's definitely more rocking than both "The Fragile"and that latest Limp Bizkit disasterpiece that is their newest just-released Rage Against The Machine wannabe album(I would really laugh if Tom Morello popped up behind Fred Durst with one of Antonio Bandara's guiatrs from "Once Upon A Time In America",and shot a missile from it at Durst).

what i have heard did not impress me nor make me feel anything really...sounded like old skool cure (seventeen seconds - faith era) with distortion...i have yet to hear the whole thing so...who knows...*shrugs*

worst cd he's released, said in a interview he focused on writing songs this time around, and the result? tame, used lyrics with no passion. even the radio won't play this stuff for long....I love NIN and this just isin't it.

I like the album alot the only problem I have with it is that's it's probably the only record in the NIN catalog where I have trouble really digging it on my headphones... Kinda' weird.

Did anyone get the DOWNWARD SPIRAL in SACD? Man that things freaking amazing!
