"Last Man on Earth" widescreen DVD out

Post by Chris Slack »

Budget DVD company Diamond has re-issued their "Last Man on Earth"/"House on Haunted HIll" DVD in a widescreen version!. The transfer quality is about the same as the old one but it sure is nice being able to see LMOE in a nice wide format! For 5 or 6 bucks you can't go wrong with this one. Make sure you get the one that says WIDESCREEN EDITION on the top, as most stores seem to have both in stock.

Widescreen is nice, and LAST MAN ON EARTH is cool Vincent Price movie.

However,I will not buy DVDs that look no better than a video, sorry.

I just happened to pick this up today, before I even saw your post... kinda... eerie...

Anyway, I have one question about The Last Man on Earth: What was the deal with that one indoor scene where Price (Morgan) and his wife were having a conversation, and their breath was showing? How could an indoor set get that cold? Clearly, it wasn't done for effect, so I was wondering if anyone knew the story there.

Oh yeah, it's Neville in the original short story, and Morgan in the movie, so you're both right. Yay!

That's right, I remember the name change striking me as being particularly odd.

Much more faithful to the book than OMEGA MAN but still a less than satisfying translation.

I don't hold out much hope for any future remakes either. The Mark Protosevich script stinks and all associated actors/directors make me cringe whenever they're announced or rumoured or whatever.

I'd rather eat a yard of Michael Berryman's shit than see them botch it again.

there is only one actor who I think is perfect for Neville...Railph Fienes. As far as Hollywood moneymakers go, if he REALLY sank himself into it Bradd Pitt could probably do a good job (see: SE7EN/12 MONKEYS) and as an alternate, maybe bruce Willis.

Romero writing and directing with Ed Harris starring, maybe? Hmmm?

Yeah sure, and I have a 14 inch cock...
