It's a great game and all but the original "feel" of the series is gone.I guess it's because the zombies are all replaced by crazy hillbillies. But it is still a fun game.If you want to play i'll recommend the PS2 version 'cause it has more levels and weapons than the GC version.

You are fucking crazy.

I might just be one of the most diehard Resident Evil fans I know. When I played RE4 for the first time on the Gamecube I was blown away. Not only a fine addition to the series, but possibly one of the best video game experiences I have ever had.

Granted the camera is different. The controls for the most part are the same, the graphics are beautiful, the sounds, the gore, the boss fights, all KICK ASS!!!

Anyone that hasn't played this game yet is doing themselves a disservice.

I totally agree with you. I bought this for the Cube, and it's one of the few reasons I have kept it. The control on this is light years shead of the old games, and having more ammo and weapons is helpful too. I hope the new Tomb Raider controls as good as this

I didn't say it was a bad game, i'm just saying that i miss the moaning of zombies and stuff on the game.Without zombies it just feels kinda "unnatural" you know what i mean. This new addition to the series is the best far and it is pretty nice to have new enemies and a different setting.I can't wait to see how number 5 will look.If they make one.

Oh yeah...

I know what you mean. They should do what they for the Suffering and let you choose first or third person yourself. That was one of greatest ideas i've seen yet.

I am a fan of the series and I thought this game was a major departure from the usual mansion exploration and zombie battles. However, it does feature some really intense moments, such as Leon and Luis' battle in the cabin.

Tell me about it! I feel lame as all hell playing this game because the townsfolk are always kickin' my ass. It is taking some time to get used to not being able to move / shoot at the same time.

I need to return my copy though and get a new one, the one I bought had a little scratch on the disk and it won't play pass the end of section 1-1!

Edit - All right! I got my replacement copy and this game is fun as all hell.

Initially it is a little bit difficult but now I'm on chapter 4-1 and I'm finally getting the swing of the controls and getting into the quick aiming / firing at the head. My hit percentage is steadily going up, initially it was around 50% on each level, now I'm up to around 80% or higher each level. There is a shooting range mini-game that is great for just practicing up your ability of quickly aiming for the head and shooting there.

I highly recommend using just the standard Handgun and standard Shotgun (and upgrading them whenever you can) until the Red9 is available which replaces the standard handgun. The Red9 seems to have much more power behind it and is a lot more deadly. I avoided buying the bolt action rifle, but when the Semi-Automatic was available I snagged it, which made the 3rd chapter a lot easier.

If you're getting charged by a lot of guys, it seems to work best to shoot out their feet, knocking them down. So you'll be able to knock down 4 or 5 guys, grenade them for the quick kill, or turn and run back further and go for some headshots. If you're getting surrounded and you have no place to run, whipping out the shotgun and firing at one section of the crowd then running through the opening and taking out the rest of the guys with headshots helps.

If you run into just one guy, a shot to the head, then running up and kicking him, then running up and slashing them with the knife while they're laying down is a great quick way to take out individuals.
