We couldn't be happier then to join the PIG family with The Dehumanizers, Coven and the history that owners Victor Hayden and Dave Portnow bring to the table.
Some ask, after all this time, you have turned down larger labels and were ususally not into signing with lable. Well, these guys are what we have been holding out for. These two gave the world some of the best Hardcore bands that were coming out during the mid 80's. Classics from Neurosis, The Accused, The Dehumanizers, The Melvins, RKL, GG Allen, El Duce and the list goes on. I have a majority of the records released by their prior labels and well, we missed the opportunity to work with both these fine men back in the 80's and we could have been labelmates with some seriously classic bands that were influences on our band. But because I was an idiot and had a short attention span, I fucked it up.
The great thing is that we are a team and not just a catalog number which is what we become when we sign with a bigger label. We also get the hands on with the owners and I would rather feel apart of something then feel owned by someone.
So enough said there for now, I could go on an on.........
We are in the works of putting together a compilation of our past efforts including tracks from RED, remastered tracks from Born Afflicted, Lost Somewhere in the Horizon demo and we are looking at adding a live show recorded by Lawrence Livermore (the man behind Lookout records, brought us Green Day, Operation Ivy, etc) during our show at the Gilman Street Project back in 1988. If the tape has held up over the years, we will add it but we are looking for some classic outtakes from lives show to through on there if they sound good. We have a lot of tape to cover, so who knows.
Then we are looking at entering the studio to put out brand new material that we have been sitting on for quite some time. It has been a long time since we have release a studio recording, so look out, it might have to be a double CD. Who knows.
We are also working on on putting together a new CD covering the bands history with live shows, interviews and some funny outtakes from our live shows, kind of like a blooper real if you will.
So as you can see, we are busy and the timing is perfect for The Braindead. We are all so busy with our personal lives that this just seems to work with how our luck tends to play out.
Oh yeah, as you know....this means, you can't hit me up for free swag anylonger. You will have to actually pay for the releases. I know this will be wierd for some of you. ahahahahaaaaaaaaa
