2. Again. Wrong. If you merely go to freecreditreport.com and look at your credit file, your score does not drop.
If what you claim is true (That EVERY query affects your score), then we would all have bad credit. We all have random banks constantly checking our credit files. When they find someone with good credit, they send out their "You're pre-approved" mail. No effect on your credit score.
ok ok, I see the soft and hard pulls stuff, I get it. What I am saying is, yes I went to a consolidation company which was supposed to be "non profit" for basically just finacial advising. They ran my credit. I did not apply for a loan, I did not apply for a CC, I was not even really "doing business" with them, I guess kind of.... Second, I went to my bank and spoke to another finacial advisor, pulled my credit, same shit, no loan no nothing. Both of those lowered my score. When an apartment pulls yoru credit and you pay them the $25, that lowers your credit.
so maybe i will turn it into a question and say, why the fuck are they doing "hard pulls" when they could do a soft pull and not affect your credit?
Like when a job does a check on your credit, $10 says they are doing a "hard pull".

Honestly... I don't know. When I checked credit reports, I only saw a few out of 150-200 that showed property management or a company which didn't provide credit. So yeah, it does happen sometimes, but it shouldn't. I looked at my report, and it didn't show my employer or the other soft pulls, but when I looked at my report on freecreditreport.com, the soft pulls were listed. They aren't supposed to be visible to anyone other than you.
