Finally watched it last night. I liked it but I thought the overall pace and tone was too serious for the subject matter. Had it been played as a straight up comedy I think it would have been more enjoyable. There were definately some funny parts and the action sequences (especially the homages to the old Japanese shows) were quite good. I liked that instead of the wacked out crazy aliens you tend to see these days, we were basically given little green men. I think if you like Miike, old Tokusatsu shows or even have fond memories of The Greatest American Hero, you'll probably enjoy this, but I wouldn't say it's one of Miike's best.
