Director: Lucio Fulci
Cast: Tisa Farrow, Ian McCulloch, Al Cliver, Richard Johnson
Special FX: Gianetto deRossi
Hopefully everyone has seen this one; if not, where the hell have you been? This is the groundbreaking gorefest by the legendary Italian director, the late great Lucio Fulci. BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THIS, I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT THE NEXT ASSHOLE WHO SAYS THAT THIS MOVIE IS A RIP-OFF OF DAWN OF THE DEAD IS ON MY SHITLIST, OTHER THAN THE PRESENCE OF ZOMBIES, THERE IS NOTHING IN COMMON BETWEEN THE TWO.
An abandoned boat in New York tells of a disease which is plaguing the island of Matool. A girl travels there with a reporter in search of her father, for it was his boat found abandoned. After viewing the opening scene, you should know what you are in for, and if that offends you, don’t go further. There is some good looking T&A to go along with the gut-churning gore, and the scene with the zombie attacking the shark is awesome.
The gore in some parts is overpowering, whether it’s the gallons of blood spewing from a bitten neck, or a gigantic splinter in the eye, gorehounds everywhere will be pleased. If you have never heard of this movie, you should hang your head in shame. If you have, but have not seen it, I strongly urge you to get a copy. This one changed my life.
Blood and Guts: A+
