MASSACRE AT CENTRAL HIGH 1976
Directed by Rene Daalder
Cast - Derrel Maury, Andrew Stevens, Kimberly Beck, Robert Carradine,
Ray Underwood, Steve Sikes, Lani O'Grady, Cheryl Smith, Steve Bond
David has just transferred to Central High, and is greeted by his long-time friend Mark. In this new school, a gang of upper class punks led by Bruce, push everyone around and Mark wants David to fit in with Bruce's elite little outfit. After watching these assholes for about a day or so, David does not want to have anything to do with them. Bruce and his buddies decide to rape a few girls, but David stops them and kicks their asses! Fed up with the new kid, Bruce and his buddies visit David as he's working underneath a car and pull the jack out from under him. As a result, David is crippled for life, but still manages to limp around with a false leg. He never told the police who was responsible and gets revenge against the gang.
A drive-in classic of the 70's, this is a very entertaining teen revenge flick, that's almost completely devoid of adult characters. After David does away with Bruce and his buddies, the geeks that used to get picked on start acting like a bunch of badasses. So naturally David gets fed up with these losers and does away with them too! The many and well deserved death scenes are amusing. David does away with each person in a different way, so that it will look like an accident. There are a few nude scenes to spice things up and the film moves along at good pace. Made on what looked like a very low budget, this film has enough going for it to be considered a minor classic. Recommended for horror fans into 70's schlock cinema.
